Changelog

1.14.6 — Bug Fixes

Improvements

• Update reminders — A downloaded update now reminds you to install it when Badgeify stays open for a long time.

Bug Fixes

• App names stay current — Chrome web apps no longer keep a stale name like "Google Chat 1".
• Custom icons — Icon files that cannot be rendered are now rejected instead of crashing the app.
• License panel — Fixed a freeze caused by the daily license check.

1.14.5 — Never Miss an Update

New Features

• Update notifications — New versions are now announced with a system notification, so updates no longer go unnoticed when the update window opens behind whatever you are working on. Click the notification to bring the update into view.

Bug Fixes

• Update notice now opens the updater — Clicking the update notice in the sidebar or the restart dialog now reliably opens the update window, instead of doing nothing.

1.14.4 — Bug Fixes

1.14.3 — Bug Fixes

Bug Fixes

1.14.2 — Bug Fixes

Bug Fixes

• Empty Trash fixed on macOS Ventura — Empty Trash now works reliably on macOS Ventura and in every system language.

1.14.1 — Bug Fixes

Bug Fixes

• Empty Trash works reliably again — Fixed the Empty Trash action failing to find the right Dock menu item on macOS Ventura and other menu layouts, by matching it against the Dock's own localized title instead of a fixed menu position.
• Command-drag reordering fixed — Restored the ability to hold Command and drag menu bar icons to reorder them.

1.14.0 — Badgeify in Your Language

New Features

• Choose your language — Use Badgeify in English, German, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, or Traditional Chinese. The app can follow your system language or remember your selection, including in menu bar menus and native dialogs.
• Make unread activity harder to miss — Choose gentle pulse, classic blink, or double blink attention styles for menu bar icons when unread items appear.
• Keep the Trash visible when empty — Show the Trash icon at all times or make it transparent when empty, while keeping Empty Trash available and correctly disabled.

Improvements

• More focused Advanced settings — Language, notification, interaction, and data options are now organized into clearer groups.
• Native Empty Trash confirmation — Emptying the Trash now uses the macOS Dock action, so the system confirmation dialog appears without requesting Finder Automation permission.

1.13.4 — Trash in the Menu Bar

New Features

• Add the Trash to your menu bar — The macOS Trash is now a menu bar item. Left click to open it in Finder, or empty it straight from the menu.

1.13.3 — Bug Fixes

Bug Fixes

• Icons no longer disappear for apps with unread badges — Apps that keep showing a badge after their window is closed (like Reminders) now stay visible in the menu bar, even with "When app is not running" set to Hide. Their badge also updates live as it changes.
• Left click works correctly on the macOS 27 beta — Fixed menu bar icons opening the right-click menu instead of activating the app when left-clicked on the macOS 27 beta.
